It's a fun game, even if my laptop will only put up with about half an hour of gameplay before putting up a protest. I like how most of the characters handle, excepting the two farthest to the right on the select screen who both feel a bit sluggish to me, but that's a matter of taste. A couple of things have hampered my enjoyment somewhat with what I've played:
-There's that second loading screen after the main loading screen. Occasionally the game skips over it and I'm left with the game being technically functional but the only visuals being the menus on a yellow background. Happened while I was writing this review, funnily enough.
-Nene's knives don't seem to register on her combo counter and I'm not sure if that's deliberate or not but it definitely feels weird since other characters' projectiles (Hank being foremost in my thoughts since he made that highest combo rating challenge very easy indeed) do register. She's otherwise my favourite character to play and this makes keeping her Rush active feel quite a bit harder than it needs to be, though I'll concede maybe there's some wisdom I'm missing.
-This one feels like it's maybe out of your hands but if I have a dip in connection and then get a score I'm proud of the game doesn't seem to want to save it even after my connection comes back. I haven't so far gotten the speedrunner time at any point but I imagine if I did and then that happened that I would be on a warpath.
It's still good, though. If I had to put a suggestion up (though I'm missing one assist so maybe I'll have to reprise this one) it would be Tarboy, as I think being the star of that submission that was almost invariably at the top of the Best of All Time list for like a decade is undeniably quite the mark on the site.

Nene's knives not keeping her combo up is actually a bug. Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix that in a future update.

Has a whiff of the Getting Over It on it with a highly cumbersome movement system and potentially harrowing consequences for slipping up. Wonder what a speedrun would look like. I'm not sure if something was supposed to happen after the credits or not; I would assume a return to the menu but it was silent for a little while and didn't show signs of that, but maybe my instinct to check if the the medals worked kicked in too quickly idk. Voice acting in the opening cutscene was a little bit sketchy but it's forgivable. All in all, cool game.

Well, it took me maybe 6 or 7 attempts but I managed to get to the end. Rather bittersweet but just managing to get there was enough of a victory so I don't mind that.

Again, remarkably good for what I assume was made in a couple of days, and I think more compelling than the last one. The way it's set up really puts the player under pressure to use their time and resources wisely, and the dark area in particular really makes everything into a scramble.

While personally I would enjoy it if the various fuel-related inputs had keyboard controls, with some system in place to make sure you still can't do any two things at once, I can see why you wouldn't do that as it would make for a different feel.

If there's one element of player input that I definitely don't appreciate though it's the aiming speed on the musket, as it's easy to feel cheated out of a health point when you can't shoot in time to get away.

And, like last time, some more enemy variety would be appreciated, though I guess given the set-up here there wasn't much else that could be done. Of the enemies that are there, though, the big ones often feel like they don't get hit when they should. I don't know if that's because I'm supposed to hit them in the heart and I missed something telling me that, or if the game's being weird on me, but either way it feels frustrating.

Overall, though, it's a commendable piece of work. Good job.

I do like it, there's a lot of fun in the exploration and the writing's pretty good, though it feels a bit like English isn't your first language (or so I thought lmao), but that wouldn't deduct a star.
What will deduct a star are the glitches I found:
-The skeletons will sometimes throw bones from another room
-I saved in the Grotto of Malice and when I opened the game again it loaded my save but just gave me a blank screen
-The camera on one occasion went out of bounds but I think this has been fixed since I experienced it
And on top of that there's a fair few frustrating aspects:
-The way the camera is set up, while obviously being necessary for the way the game works, can lead to moments of major annoyance, such as stepping onto one screen then immediately running into an enemy I couldn't see and being knocked back to where I came from, or there being a heart on screen that I really want but I get knocked off by an enemy and it despawns.
-I personally feel like some of the enemies do a bit too much damage for the attacks they do. If there's a strongest example it's probably the wizard fellas doing like 3.5 or 4 hearts of damage for an attack that's not the easiest thing in the world to dodge, since you really only have the tiniest window in which to figure out where they're about to shoot.
-The final boss's second stage is so erratic and the amount of damage it can do in a tiny window is so high that I can say confidently that the only reason I was able to beat it at all was that all the projectiles flying about were causing the game to slow down.
Don't let these criticisms discourage you, though, it's still a solid game and I'm sure with more practise and with whatever lessons you may have learned making this one, you can pull off something great in future. Keep it up.

This game came out 2 years ago. I've been trying to get to the very top of the leaderboard almost once a week for most of the time since then, which I think says enough on its own.

Dor those wondering about those scores in the plural hundreds, it's all to do with ricochets. You get the corner just below the wall and it registers, like, seventy hits as the ball goes up. I discovered it by accident.

This was great. I loved the atmosphere. Also those skin collectors werre terrifying. Though I think there should have been some way to deal with them. Like the knife, for example.

Oh wow thanks! Really glad you like these games :) I probably won't make a full console/Steam version of this series, but my goal is to do that with Enter The Flesh Again. I'm at least going to try to get it on Steam through the Greenlight system, but I'm also planning on releasing a big demo of it here on Newgrounds. I have no idea if I stand a chance, but I'm going to try my best!

That was awesome! The story, while not original, par say, was very well executed. The gameplay was very solid, especially when you had survivors with you. The atmosphere was great. The art was great. The amount of stuff you can destroy is very impressive for flash game standards. The only problem in my opinion was the music. Not that it was bad, there just wasn't enough of it. But that won't stop me from giving you a full five stars.

I'm so glad you liked it! The story was inspired by many things like Fallout, Metro, Half-Life, Contra, Metal Slug, Alien Hominid etc., so yeah it's not super original :P ...but the main inspiration for this game was War Of The Worlds, except the only difference in this game is that the aliens did not die from earth's bacteria. Sorry I couldn't add more music to the game. I kinda like the desolate, minimalistic feel of the music, but another big reason for not adding more music is because of file size and loading time. Music and sound fx really crank up the file size and many people hate long loading times, and this really affects many people with slower internet connections. Anyway, thanks for the 5 stars and the kind words!
