and after all that, it only took them like 10 minutes.

so it can't handle it when you ungroup while isolated in the group you're ungrouping and then try to undo the action. i'm no programmer but what i think the issue is there is it tries to put you back into the isolated group before the ungrouping has been undone, so it's essentially looking to put you in something that doesn't exist and goes mad. i know this, and letting it happen was my blunder. what's not my blunder is that once it did all that it just straight-up deleted stuff from the drawing file, and i checked before doing anything and the outlines of the stuff it deleted could still be selected, so i saved and closed because i didn't remember the last time i'd saved and after doing something weird it becomes really annoying to try and draw in it because it won't preview the image properly and now almost everything i drew is gone and i don't know any way to recover it.

relicanth is an ocean floor-dwelling filter feeder so i figured it didn't need eyes for much. got em closed all the time in the original design anyway lol

claydol is from the same desert as cacturne and flygon and is pretty based by association. i couldn't resist the temptation to do a funky halo but i have a lore-based justification that that is a combination of the psychic aura claydol uses to protect itself from the rain and the remnant of the magic light which apparently brought it to life in the first place. i have no idea what mine (named dolor, spanish for pain) did in the final fights honestly, can't remember

flygon is from the same desert as cacturne, so is cool by association. mine didn't get to do that much against the elite four/champion i think, but she did know screech and dragonbreath, so i'm assuming she helped against some generally tanky enemies and against enemy dragons

drawing some pokemon from my recent (ie this year but really not that recent) playthrough of pokemon ruby. this is a breloom, which i had in my party for the final challenges, who ohko'd sidney's entire party and defeated steven's last standing pokemon (his armaldo) by tanking an aerial ace and countering, which i think was an ohko but there might have been some health already chipped off.

took way too long but i managed. now i get to the fun part of writing a story, which is the, uh, writing it part. should go well.

tomorrow's summary-writing time i guess, and then hopefully i finally get back in the swing of things.
